Joe B. Gomez, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at his home in Green River, Wyoming. He died following a brief illness. Mr. Gomez was a resident of Green River for 76 years and former resident of New Mexico.
He was born November 21, 1938 in Dixon, New Mexico; the son of Jose Braulio Gomez and Ferminia Martinez.
Mr. Gomez attended schools in Green River, Wyoming and obtained his GED
He worked at Jim Bridger Power Plant for 22 years and retired in 1996 as a sheet metal worker. He also worked on the Flaming Gorge and Fontenelle Dams. After his retirement he worked doing custom sheet metal work making things for family and friends from Joe's Tin Shop.
Mr. Gomez was a United States Veteran having served in the United States Air Force and National Guard during the Korean Conflict.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, rock hunting and gambling.
Survivors include one brother, Ruben Gomez and wife Josephine of Tempe, Arizona; as well as several nieces; nephews and great friends.
He was proceeded in death by his companion, Pauline Bustos; his parents, Jose and Ferminia Gomez; one brother, Ernest Gomez; three sisters, Cecilia Valdez, Bertina Rodarte and Eileen Thompson.

Following Cremation; a Vigil Service with Rosary will be recited at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 900 Hitching Post Drive, Green River, Wyoming. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 29, 2021 at the church. Military Honors, Graveside Services and Inurnment will be in the Riverview Cemetery Columbarium.
