Sheila Welch Kellogg, 62, of Rock Springs, WY, passed away on October 28th, 2021 at Sweetwater County Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle fighting against a sudden illness.
She was born on January 21st, 1959 to the late Billie Eugene Welch and Betty Catherine Welch in Carlsbad, New Mexico. She attended school in Green River, WY.
We all want to remember what an incredibly strong and independent woman she was. Not forgetting to mention how incredibly stubborn she was. Someone who could never set roots but loved to make homes out of something that someone had given up on. She had a talent for seeing the good out of the impossible and making it look and feel beautiful. She loved the love of animals especially horses. She loved riding and packing into the hidden beauties of the country and maybe do a little fishing. She had the most love for her dogs Gemma and the love of her life Tesla Skye a standard poodle she received on a special Mother's Day. She loved to go to casinos and do a little gambling winning some and losing some but never giving up. She taught us what it was to be a survivor, to be strong and never depend on anything or anyone to make a life for ourselves. She loved being a sister, a friend, a mom, an aunt, a grandmother and a "great". If she befriended you, you became part of the family and were a friend for life. She was an amazing role model and a genuine salt of the earth human being, tell you how it was irreplaceable woman. She touched so many lives and leaves a hole on the earth that cannot be filled.
She will be missed by her three children, Tracy Richards and Larry of Rawlins, WY, Haazon Thullen and Melissa of Veneta, OR, Haaley Thullen and Josh of Rock Springs, WY; her beloved sister Mary Welch; brother David Welch and family; grandchildren Tieler, Jessie, Cory Allen, Savannah, Damien James (DJ), Daxton; nieces and nephew Brittany, Brian, Sam and Ashley; her "greats" Hailee, Malachi, Oakley, Keylee, Kyler, Willow and KoraLynn.
She will also be missed by her childhood longtime friend and sister Cass VanVleet and her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Lyndia Stewart.
Cremation has taken place and services will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, November 6 2021 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs, WY. A Celebration of Life will follow at the American Legion Archie Hay Post 24, 551 Broadway St. Rock Springs, WY.
