Green River Police Department reports for Oct. 24

At 11:21 a.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired on Wilson Street. Officers canvassed the area but did not locate any individuals involved and completed a report of the incident, which is still under investigation.

At 2:56 p.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism on Bridger Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported the tire on their vehicle had been slashed. Officers observed the damage to the tire and completed a report of the incident.

At 6:55 p.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run collision on Cumorah Way. It was reported one vehicle had backed into another vehicle, which was parked and unoccupied, then left the area. Officers completed a report of the incident, which is still under investigation.

Oct. 25

At 1:21 a.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious person messing with vehicles on North Riverbend Drive. Officers met with the owner of the vehicle who reported the vehicle had been rummaged through and items were missing. Officers canvassed the area and located a possible suspect. Officers made contact with the individual but did not locate any of the missing items. Officers completed a report of the incident, which is still under investigation.

At 8:54 a.m., officers responded to a report of an emergency school safety drill at Washington Elementary. The drill was completed successfully.

At 1:29 p.m., officers responded to a report of an emergency school safety drill at Truman Elementary. The drill was completed successfully.

At 1:35 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with an individual who reported a physical altercation with a known individual. Officers were unable to locate the individual at the time the incident was reported and completed a report. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 7 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Expedition Island. Officers met with an individual who reported their vehicle missing. The vehicle was later located in Uinta County by a Trooper and the driver was arrested. Officers completed a report of the incident, which is still under investigation.

Oct. 26

At 11:53 a.m., officers responded to a report of property damage on Commerce Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported finding damage to their vehicle. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 1:36 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual causing a disturbance at the Post Office. Officers met with a supervisor who advised a customer was causing a disturbance and requested that the individual be issued a trespass warning for the property. Officers made contact with the individual, issued the trespass warning, and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:33 p.m., officers responded to a report of fraud on Kentucky Street. Officers met with an individual who reported receiving two checks for a vehicle they were selling on KSL. The checks were over the amount requested and were deemed fraudulent by their financial institution. No transfer of property was made and no monetary losses were reported. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 5:25 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at NAPA Auto Parts for a stop sign violation and issued the driver, Jeff Gardea, 49, of Green River, a citation for alleged failure to provide proof of liability insurance.

At 9:28 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of an individual that was bitten by a dog on Evers Street. Officers made contact with the owner of the dog who reported their dog had bitten a family member, and requested the dog to be taken by the officer. Officers impounded the dog and transported it to the Animal Shelter. Officers completed a report of the incident and forwarded the report to Animal Control.

At 9:57 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance at the Flaming Gorge Motel. Officers made contact with an individual suspected of causing a disturbance, who appeared to be intoxicated. The individual was transported to their residence. Officers were later called back to the property for another disturbance involving the same individual. Officers met with two individuals who requested the individual be removed from the property. Officers subsequently placed Kayla Carlson, 38, of Green River, under arrest for alleged public intoxication and transported Carlson to the Sweetwater County Detention Center. Officers completed a report of the incidents.

Oct. 27

At 7:48 a.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism on West Teton Boulevard. Officers met with an individual who reported finding damage to their vehicle. Officers completed a report of the incident.

Oct. 28

At 7:54 a.m., officers responded to assist with a joint agency emergency relocation safety drill at Rock Springs High School. The drill was completed successfully.

At 9:22 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at East 3rd South Street and South 2nd East Street and issued the driver Yvonne Swett, age 36, of Green River, a citation for an alleged stop sign violation.

At 6:51 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious circumstance on Stephens Street. Officers met with an individual who reported they had received a letter with a concerning message. Officers collected the letter and completed a report of the incident.

Oct. 29

At 10:01 a.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Officers met with an employee who reported a door that had been spray painted. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 2:12 p.m., officers responded to a report of a brush fire at Scotts Bottom Road. Officers met with individuals who reported they observed a vehicle driving around the nature area shooting suspected fireworks from the vehicle window. Green River Fire Department responded to the scene and were able to extinguish the fire promptly with no injuries. Officers attempted to locate the suspected vehicle and completed a report of  the incident. The case is still under investigation.

At 8:35 p.m., officers responded to a report of suspicious circumstances on North 1st West Street. Officers ascertained a single-vehicle collision had occurred. It was determined the vehicle was traveling north and left the roadway striking some decorative rocks in the yard of a residence. Officers located the suspected vehicle and met with the owner. Officers issued a citation to Troy Kelly, 60, of Green River, for alleged hit and run; unattended property. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 8:38 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats or harassment. Officers met with an individual who reported receiving threatening emails. Officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 9:07 p.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run collision at Medicine Bow Park. Officers met with an individual who reported they found their vehicle, which had been parked and unoccupied, damaged. Officers completed a report of the incident.

Oct. 30

At 4:13 a.m., officers responded to a report of a juvenile runaway. Officers located the juvenile, 17, escorted the juvenile to their residence, and turned over the juvenile to a parent or guardian. Officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 12:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of found property at the GRPD office. Officers met with an individual who located a set of keys, which were later returned to the owner.

At 1:54 p.m., officers responded to a report of illegal dumping on South Center Street. Officers met with an individual who reported another individual for dumping trash into their dumpster. Officers attempted to located the suspected individual and completed a report of the incident.

At 5:50 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in the altercation and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 6:03 p.m., officers responded to a report of individuals shooting a firearm within city limits at Scotts Bottom Road. Officers made contact with the individuals and subsequently issued Mikal Norberg, 19, of Green River, a citation for alleged shooting in city limits. Officers completed a report of the incident.

Oct. 31

At 2:13 a.m., officers conducted a field contact at Ponderosa Bar with individuals who reported their vehicle had been involved in a collision. Officers met with the individuals, located the crash site, observed damage to city property, and issued a citation to Jacy Wilson, 43, of Green River, for alleged hit and run; unattended property. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 2:50 a.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in an altercation. Officers subsequently placed Patrick Richardson, 24, of Green River, under arrest for alleged domestic assault - 1st offense and interference with emergency calls - knowingly obstructs or interferes with completion of call. Officers transported Richardson to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 11:33 a.m., officers responded to a report of an individual who requested to turn over suspected drugs. Officers collected the suspected marijuana and paraphernalia, and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 9:52 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at Hopi Circle and issued the driver, a juvenile, 16, of Green River, a citation for alleged speed.

At 10:01 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at Upland way and Doe Drive and issued the driver, a juvenile, 17, of Green River, a citation for alleged speed.

Nov. 1

At 7:11 a.m., officers responded to a report of a juvenile runaway. The juvenile, 15, was later located. Officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
