The Lady Wolves ended Thursday night with a loss from their rivals, the Lady Tigers from Rock Springs.
The match consisted of four sets, with the Lady Tigers winning the first 25-21, the Lady Wolves taking the second 25-22 and the Lady Tigers finishing the night with 25-21 and 25-14 wins.
During the first set, the Lady Wolves faced an early rally by the Rock Springs team when they scored nine unanswered points. After several back and fourth rounds, the Lady Wolves would find a groove and score six unanswered points, overcoming the Lady Tigers momentarily, but a second, seven-point run by the Lady Tigers would seal their first-set victory.
The Lady Wolves came back in the second set with a few scoring runs that Rock Springs had difficulties responding to. Though Rock Springs mounted a late-set comeback in two rounds, they weren’t able to overcome the Lady Wolves.
The third set saw close action between the two teams, with neither side able to gain momentum for long, though the Lady Tigers were able to put together short scoring bursts that the Lady Wolves were ultimately unable to overcome.
The Lady Tigers were able to end the night with scoring runs the Lady Wolves struggled to contend with.
The Lady Wolves will take on Natrona County Friday at home. Action starts at 6 p.m.
