Jon C Wilde

Jon C. Wilde, age 81, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 3rd in Springville Utah. He resided as a rancher in McKinnon Wyoming most all his adult life.

Jon was born on April 11, 1940, in Croydon UT, to Marcus Reed Wilde and Valliere Chappell of Coalville, UT. He attended Morgan High School where he met his sweetheart RaNae Rock. They were married on June 11th, 1959, in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Ogden for a short time while working at Hill Air Force Base.

M.R. Wilde and Sons then purchased land in McKinnon, Wyoming where Jon and his two brothers, Albert and Theron would move to begin their new lives as ranchers. This is where Jon built his legacy.

There were not many things that Jon loved more than his ranch. He was proud of the life he built there and found such solace being out with his cattle in the open range. He was a true cowboy and was given an award from the National Day of the American Cowboy in 2006. He found pride in what his dad had passed on to him and his brothers, and to tell that story to his children and posterity when we got together. He built many friendships in the community over the years. He was an active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving as bishop and many other callings.

Jon is survived by his four children, Clay Wilde of McKinnon WY, Lisa (Joe) Rosenberg of Springville, UT., Melanie (Joe) Nelson of Payson, UT, and Darren Wilde of McKinnon, WY. He has one surviving brother, Robert Wilde of Lake Havasu City, AZ; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a man he treated as his own son who has been a part of our family for over 20 years, Rolando Dela Cruz from Huancayo, Peru.

Jon is preceded in death by his spouse RaNae, son Troy Jon Wilde, his parents Marcus Reed and Valliere Wilde, brothers, Reed, Albert, Theron, and David.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am, on Thursday, August 12th 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in McKinnon Wyoming. A viewing will be held from 9:30am to 10:30am prior to services at the church.
