Green River Police Department reports for June 29

At 7:12 a.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism. Officers met with the maintenance supervisor who advised two lights were damaged at the GRHS stadium. Officers completed a report of the incident, no suspects have been identified at this time.

At 6:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a young child that appeared to be lost in the area near Indian Hills Drive and Shoshone Avenue. Officers made contact with a parent and turned over the juvenile. Officers completed a report of the incident.

June 30

At 12:05 p.m., officers responded to a report of civil issues at the Coachman Inn. Officers met with an individual who reported items missing. Officer completed a report of the incident.

At 4:29 p.m., officers responded to a report of fraud Schultz Street. Officers met with an individual who reported a possible scam. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 7:22 p.m., officers responded to a report of property damage on South Wagonwheel Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported a window of a parked vehicle had been broken by a golf ball. Officers met with the owner of the vehicle and the individual responsible for the accidental damage. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 8:11 p.m., officers located an individual with an active municipal court warrant. Officers confirmed the warrant and Bree Mcpherson was placed under arrest per the active warrant for alleged failure to appear to an original charge of driving while under the influence of a controlled substance, second offense. Mcpherson was transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 10:58 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal dispute. The parties were separated and officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

July 1

The GRPD did not provide the Star with the police log for this day. (The log was locked in Google Docs and emailed requests for access were not replied to as of press time.)

July 2

At 10:45 a.m., officers, along with an underage buyer, conducted tobacco compliance checks at establishments that sell tobacco. All of the business’s checked were in compliance and no citations were issued. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 11:21 a.m., officers responded to a report of a lost property on Hitching Post Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported a missing license plate off of their vehicle. Unknown at this time if the plate was lost or stolen. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 1:09 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance that had occurred earlier in the day. Officers met with the individuals involved in the disturbance and issued a trespass warning at the request of the property owner. Officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 3:28 p.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny at Green River Vape and Smoke. Officers met with the store owner who advised a former employee owed the store money. Officers met with the employee and completed a report of the incident.

At 5:12 p.m., officers responded to a report of a citizen assist on Evans Street. Officers met with an individual requesting assistance. An advocate was contacted and officers completed a report of the incident.

At 8:43 p.m., officers responded to a report of an animal bite on Crossbow Drive. It was reported an individual leaned on a fence while conversing with the occupants of the yard when a dog bit their hand. Officers met with the owner of the dog who was unable to provide vaccination records and wished to turn the dog over to the city’s animal control department. The dog was impounded and transported to the Green River Animal Shelter where it will be held on a 10-day rabies quarantine. Officers completed a report of the incident.

July 3

At 11:26 a.m., officers responded to a report of a possible motorcycle crash in the area of West Teton Boulevard and Colorado Drive. It was reported a dirt bike was traveling through the intersection coming from Colorado Drive failed to stop at the stop sign and impacted the passenger side rear tire of a second vehicle, causing the motorcycle to crash. Officers issued the driver of the dirt bike, a juvenile, 12, of Green River, citations for alleged violations off-road recreational vehicle and inattentive driving violations. Officers completed a report of the incident, no injuries were reported.

At 11:38 a.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal dispute. Officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

July 4

At 5:04 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious circumstance at Expedition Island. Officers met with individuals who reported an individual who was possibly intoxicated, using derogatory language and acting inappropriate. Officers made contact with the individual and subsequently placed Kenneth Warren, 59, of Kila, Mont., under arrest for alleged public intoxication. Officers transported Warren to the Sweetwater Detention Center and completed a report of the incident. 

July 5

At 12:49 p.m., animal control officers responded to a report of a dog attack on Wyoming Drive. Officers met with the owner of the dogs and issued citations for alleged nuisance animal, immunizations required, and animal license required to Michael Gariepy, 22, of Green River.

At 10:29 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in an altercation. All parties involved agreed to remain civil, and officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 11:07 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in an altercation. The parties separated and officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

July 6

At 11:51 a.m., officers responded to a report of a three-vehicle collision. It was reported that a vehicle was traveling south on Jefferson Street while a second vehicle was traveling east on Mckinley Street, both approaching the intersection of the two streets. The first vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign as the second was traveling through the intersection. The first vehicle swerved to avoid colliding with the second but then struck a third vehicle that was parked and unoccupied on the south side of Mckinley Street. Officers issued the driver of of the first vehicle, Alphonso Gardea, 62, of Green River, citations for alleged stop sign and registration violations. Officers issued the driver of the second vehicle, a juvenile, 16, of Green River, a citation for alleged failure to provide proof of liability insurance and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:10 p.m., officers responded to a report of nuisance weeds on Logan Street. Officers observed the property in violation and contacted the owner of the property. Officers issued a notice to abate and completed a report of the incident.

At 4:35 p.m., officers responded to a report of civil matters on Ironwood Street. Officers met with an individual who reported property that was taken and not returned. Officers attempted to contact the individual and completed a report of the incident.

At 7:38 p.m., animal control officers were notified of an owner that was bitten by their own dog on Kansas Street.
