Stanley "Stooge" Jereb

Stanley "Stooge" Jereb, 90, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at his home in Rock Springs, Wyoming. He was a life-long resident of Rock Springs.

Mr. Jereb was born December 3, 1930 in Rock Springs, Wyoming; the son of John Jereb and Anna Rupar.

He attended schools in Rock Springs, and was a 1949 graduate of Rock Springs High School. Stanley also attended Salt Lake Area Vocational School.

Mr. Jereb married Mary Ruth Russell on August 18, 1957 at Saint Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Rock Springs, Wyoming. They have been married for almost 64 years.

Stanley served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

Mr. Jereb worked for General Chemical for 26 years until his retirement in 1990 as an Instrument Technician. He also worked as a Crossing Guard for the City of Rock Springs for over 20 years at Washington School and Westridge Elementary.

Stanley was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Community.

He was a member of B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge No. 624, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 151, American Legion Archie Hay Post 24, Knights of Columbus, and Rock Springs Bowling Association.

Mr. Jereb enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren; bowling; going to their cabin up North; and having family dinners.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ruth Jereb of Rock Springs, Wyoming; one son, Frank Jereb and wife Marilyn of Rock Springs; three daughters, Julianne Wilson of Rock Springs; Kathleen Johnson and husband Mike of Rock Springs; Susan Taylor and husband Ben of Greeley, Colorado; one brother, Jack Jereb and wife Joanie of Rock Springs; one sister, Cecelia Young of Las Vegas, Nevada; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-greatgrandchild, Sawyer Robert Warsop; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, James Jereb; eight brothers, Alfred Jereb; John Jereb; Frank Jereb; Vincent Jereb; Anton "Tony" Jereb; Albert Jereb; Joseph Albin Jereb; five sisters, Mary Jereb; Stephanie Jereb; Anna Jereb; Johanna Jereb; Frances Jereb Smith; one son-in-law, Willie Wilson; and one brother-in-law, Hank Young.

Following Cremation, a Memorial Service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 2, 2021 at Vase Funeral Chapel, 154 Elk Street, Rock Springs, Wyoming. A Celebration of Life and Military Honors will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Friday, July 2, 2021 at American Legion Archie Hay Post 24, 543 Broadway Street, Rock Springs, Wyoming.
