Future of Wolves softball is bright

Head softball coach Blair Aimone is excited about the future the Wolves have in the spring newly-developed softball league established this year.

While the winless season wasn’t what players or coaches hoped for, the growth they’ve shown throughout the season encourages Aimone.

“I am excited for the future of Wolves Softball,” she said. “I am proud of the girls for refusing to give up. We will be a team to reckon with in the future.”

Aimone considers the season a success saying it was both an honor and exciting to be a part of something new.

She’s also convinced the next year will be better for the girls.

“These girls found a drive and passion they didn’t have before,” she said. “It will be up our juniors and seniors to set the pace and really step up and lead. They know what is expected of them and I am looking to them to lead our freshman and sophomores”

She said the spots are not set in stone and hopes the girls will continue to train and work hard throughout the summer and looks for the girls to participate in other sports during the fall and winter.

“Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard,” Aimone said. “We will be the hardest working softball team in the state.”

For not, Aimone said she’s looking to see the girls strive to make gains and wins in 2022, seeing a state title in the team’s future if everyone continues to work hard and improve.

“We have high expectations for these girls. Our coaching staff is dedicated and we love the game. It’s a great combination and we can’t wait until next season,” she said.

One player made the All Conference list, while three others were named second time All Conference. Shelby Carson earned a place on the first team while Kaylee Karson, Lani Jo Blaylock and Natalie White were named to the second team.
