Spring registration open at Western

Many of Western Wyoming Community College’s students transfer to the University of Wyoming (UW) or other four-year institutions after graduation.

For the past five years, Western has had a “two-plus-two” transfer agreement with academic departments at the University of Wyoming.

The “two-plus-two” collaboration agreements are now being revamped to make the process even easier.

The new “universal two-plus-two” partnerships will allow Western’s students’ coursework to transfer to UW no matter the academic discipline.

In order to make the universal partnership work, Western will ensure that coursework will meet UW’s requirements for a bachelor’s degree. Until the new agreements are developed, existing students have transfer assurance under the current “two-plus-two” academic department agreements.

This new universal agreement will make transferring to UW as seamless as possible for Western students.

By improving that transition, students can remain on track to degree completion within four years (eight consecutive, full-time semesters).

This effort also supports educational attainment and economic opportunity for Wyoming citizens.

“These agreements will set a clear pathway to a bachelor’s degree for Western students. Students can start their coursework at Western and enjoy all the benefits of the small community college class sizes and expanded access to faculty without worrying about needing to repeat coursework. It offers students the best of both worlds,” stated Beth Gard, Instructor of Business at Western.

The estimated completion time for the new agreements is the end of 2020.

Spring 2021 registration is open.

Western is planning for in-person coursework as it did in the Fall 2020. To learn more about Western’s academic programs or to apply, visit the westernwyoming.edu/academics.
