Genesis Alkali employees pledge to United Way

The United Way received a pledge of $56,506 from United Steel Workers Local 13214 and employees at Genesis Alkali.

The pledge was made through the United Way of Southwest Wyoming's workplace campaign and go to support community-based initiated focused on education, health and basic needs.

United Way funds Sweetwater County initiatives such as the Food bank of Sweetwater County, Boys & Girls Club of Sweetwater County and the YWCA's Financial Empowerment and Center for Families and Children programs, among others.

"It has been a challenging year between the pandemic and the economic turbulence. So, the fact that people feel lucky to be working and still willing to donate is moving," Kelly Frink, the executive director of United Way of Southwest Wyoming said in a press release. "

Because of their generosity families will have food on their table during the holidays and beyond; children will be kindergarten ready and have supports along the way to be successful; senior citizens will live in their homes longer, maintaining their independence and their health."
