The Wolves were on top at the end of the 4A West Regional Tournament in Casper.
The Wolves took the regional title after scoring 220 points, earning seven more than second-place finisher Kelly Walsh. Natrona County rounded out the top three by scoring 179.5 points.
A number of Wolves stood out at the competition, ranking high in their individual weight classes and six wrestlers became the regional champions in their weight classes. At 106, Thomas Dalton placed first following a no contest decision over fellow wrestler Wolves Trevor Scicluna in the final match. A similar situation occurred in the 113 weight class, with Dominic Martinez taking first after a no contest decision over Conner Todd.
Clayson Mele took first at 120, defeating Evanston’s Jaxin Moore by fall at 4:55. Kade Flores also took first at 126, defeating Natrona County’s Dylan Brenton by fall in 3:04.
At 152, Jacob Weipert took first after winning his final match against Rock Springs Tiger Cash Christensen by 3-1 decision. Payton Tucker continued to be a force to be reckoned with, earning the first-place finish at 182 after defeating Vincent Genatone from Natrona County by fall in 1:05.
Finishing second in their weight classes, along with Scicluna and Todd, were Kaden Lloyd at 195, and Sage Wilde at 220.
Taking third were Kade Knezovich at 132 and Camar Nunn at 145.
The wrestling team will have to go back to Casper for the State wrestling tournament Friday and Saturday.
