The Wolves emerged the kings of the mountain at the Ron Thon wrestling tournament in Riverton.
The Wolves took first place at the tournament, scoring 203.5 points. Second place was awarded to Kelly Walsh with 1172.5 points, while third went to Powell with 133 points. It was the second time since 2003 the Wolves won the tournament.
Several wrestlers placed well at the competition. Taking first place in their weight classes were Thomas Dalton at 106, Clayson Mele at 120, and Payton Tucker at 182. Dominic Martinez took second at 113. Kade Flores took fourth at 126. Jacob Weipert and Kaden Lloyd took fifth at 152 and 195 respectively. Trevor Scicluna took sixth at 106.
The Wolves will take on Evanston at home Wednesday night, starting at 6 p.m.
The team will then make the short drive to Rock Springs to compete in conference duals Saturday.
