Volleyball team drops 2 more games

The Lady Wolves have had a couple of tough competitors, but that won’t stop them from continuing to improve each game.

Last week, the Lady Wolves took on Cheyenne East and lost in three sets, 25-10, 25-10, 25-23. The team also played and lost to Riverton in four sets, 24-23, 30-28, 25-21, 25-10.

Head coach Rikki Shantz said the Lady Wolves really played Cheyenne East hard in the third set.

“I thought they really battled and fought for every point,” Shantz said.

At this point in the season, Shantz said it’s time for the Lady Wolves to start looking at every game as a game they need to win. She’s been asking the team to be patient and focus on peaking at the right time. It’s time for them to start playing to win.

“I think we have a lot of offensive weapons,” Shantz said.

The defense has also shown a lot of strength. They need to make sure both the offense and defense work as one unit to pass and get to the ball as quickly as they can. They also need to do this on a more consistent basis, she said.

“I think we see moments of greatness,” Shantz said.

She knows the team is talented, it’s just a matter of playing at a consistent level throughout the entire game.

The team is looking forward to playing Evanston Thursday at 6 p.m. in Evanston and Jackson at home Saturday at 2 p.m.

Shantz said the Lady Wolves are pretty well matched up with these teams.

Jackson surprised the Lady Wolves a couple of weeks ago and they didn’t know what to expect from them, but this time they know what to expect and they will be ready.

“Hopefully, we’ll be a little bit better prepared for them,” Shantz said.

As for the Evanston game, the Lady Wolves are prepared to play them.

“I think the girls will have a lot of confidence going against them,” Shantz said.
