The Green River High School golf team opened their season in Rock Springs at a tournament that saw a lightning delay Thursday.
According to Wyopreps.com, the girls took sixth place at 338, trailing behind invite winner Kelly Walsh, Natrona, Cheyenne Central, Laramie and host Rock Springs. They fared better than Evanston, which scored 372. On the boys’ side, the Wolves took last place with 401.
Top five players for the girls were Megan Griffin of Kelly Walsh with 80, Sophie Spiva and Camy Langly of Natrona with 81 and 89 respectively, Kate Davis of Laramie with 89 and Haily Kalus from Kelly Walsh with 92. The top five boys were Ethan Cates from Central with 72, Cole Bertagnole of Natrona with 74, Eli Cole from Cheyenne East with 74, Laramie’s Jackson McClaren with 75 and Granston Webb, also with 75. Webb’s school was not listed in the results.
