A man accused of inappropriately touching a 17-year-old while they were working could serve 30 years in prison.
Bradley A. Baugh, 23, appeared in the Third District County of Judge Richard Lavery at an arraignment to one count of third-degree sexual assault and three counts of fourth-degree sexual abuse of a minor.
If Baugh is found guilty of all four felonies, he could face a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison and a maximum fine of $40,000. A jury trial has been scheduled to take place Aug. 12 at 9 a.m.
According to court documents, on Oct. 27, 2018, a Green River police officer responded to McDonald’s to check on a possible sexual assault of a minor. After arriving at the restaurant, the officer spoke to a 17-year-old female and her mother about how the girl was allegedly inappropriately touched by Baugh.
The 17-year-old told the officer Baugh has been making inappropriate comments and telling her sexual jokes on the night of Oct. 26, 2018. As the night progressed, Baugh’s behavior progressed and he allegedly smacked her on the behind numerous times and tickled her.
Later on in the shift, the girl needed a break and asked if she could go up on the roof. While she was on the roof, Baugh came up to the roof and allegedly kissed her and touched her inappropriately. The girl pushed Baugh away and went back down to the restaurant where she told a fellow coworker what had happened on the roof.
The 17-year-0ld finished her shift at 1 a.m. and went out to start her car. Baugh allegedly followed her and once again allegedly made inappropriate contact with her. She was able to get away from Baugh and stayed with the other employees until they all left together.
Baugh was interviewed by officers and at first he denied what the girl had said. He claimed the 17-year-old pursued him.
The 17-year-old girl then showed officers text messages she had received from Baugh basically stating he would no longer touch her at work. At this time, the girl did admit to kissing Baugh back when they were on the roof because she said she didn’t know what else to do.
During a second interview, Baugh admitted to making flirtatious comments to the girl. He also admitted to following her up onto the roof and allegedly inappropriately touching her. He said she kissed him back. Baugh said he didn’t follow her out to the car, but met her by the back door because no one else was around and he wanted to ask her about when they were going to hang out together. After the shift was over, he went home after he dropped off another coworker at their house.
The officer once again went over all of the accusations the girl had made and Baugh didn’t deny any of them, the documents state. It also states Bough told the officer “he wants help learning how to manage his sexual desires and decision making as he struggles to control himself during the spur of the moment.”
