Those who enjoy listening to audiobooks, but don’t like the wait for the title to become available will enjoy the library’s new digital upgrade.
According to a press release, Wyoming residents now have access to thousands of free, downloadable audiobook titles thanks to the Wyoming State Library’s launch of RBDigital Unlimited. This subscription marks a major expansion of the RBDigital service, available through GoWYLD.net.
Sweetwater County Library Director Jason Grubb said the libraries have acquired 30,000 books on audio files, which can be accessed through a library card. All a patron needs to do to access these new audiobooks is go to the website http://www.sweetwaterlibraries.com, click on the EBOOKS, MOVIES & MORE icon and then the RB Digital icon.
The way library books are being checked out is starting to change. He said more patrons are checking out audio books than regular books.
“We’ve been watching the trend for at least a year,” Grubb said.
The problem the library was seeing with the audio books was they only had so many audio files available so patrons would have to wait for the person to finish the audiobook before they could access it. RBDigital Unlimited will eliminate that.
“You don’t have to wait for the service,” he said.
The press release states, RBDigital Unlimited has unlimited checkouts. Patrons can choose a title and download it to a phone, device, or computer without ever encountering a hold or delay.
Unlimited titles include all content from the RBDigital family of imprints, including all Recorded Books titles that are six months or older, and all titles from Gildan, Christian Audio, Tantor Media and others, the release states.
Genres of all kinds are available through this service so patrons are sure to find something they want to listen to. Best sellers and award-winning authors including Danielle Steele, Pierce Brown, Davina Porter and Ramón de Ocampo also have some of their books available on this service.
RBDigital is available free to all Wyoming residents and accessible with any local public or community college library card. Learn more at gowyld.net/econtent/rbdigital, and visit an app store to download the RBDigital app to access this collection.
