Charles David McCormick, 66, of Green River, passed away May 11, 2019, at his home with his wife Kathy by his side.
He was born Oct. 7, 1952, in Eau Claire, Wisc., the first son of Charles and Audrey McCormick.
He attended schools in Land O'Lakes, Wisc., and was a graduate of Eagle River High School with the class of 1971. He attended college at the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater, before entering the military in the fall of 1972, serving in Germany until 1974 and then entering the reserves. After his service, Charlie worked in the mining industry, spending 27 years at Allied/General Chemical retiring in 2007. He married Kathy (Samson) Moody Jan. 19, 2001. Charlie was a member of the American Legion Tom Whitmore Post No. 28 and Eagles Aerie No. 2350.
His interests included the Green Bay Packers, camping, fishing, hunting, skiing, enjoying good food, a good beer or a good bourbon, neat.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy; parents Chuck and Audrey McCormick of Rock Springs; brother, Peter McCormick of Rhinelander, Wisc .; sisters Cathy Justice of Rock Springs, Sandy (Bill) Chitwood of Boulder; daughter Tabitha Buckmaster of Eagle River, Wisc., Ed (Amy) McCormick of Phelps, Wisc .; grandchildren, Travis, Syrus, Ashley, Cloe and Ava of Wisconsin and numerous nieces and nephews; bonus children, Sarah (Mike) Orham, of Marbleton, Josh Moody of Gillette and bonus grandchildren Jasmine, Joshua, and Jordyn, of Gillette; also, a brother and sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; sister Connie LaFriske; nephew Clay Brisko; his wife's parents; brother-in-law, David Fackenthall; and man's best friends Blackie and Isabel.
Cremation will take place and there will be no services, however a wake will be celebrated later.
