Wilson sentenced Thursday

Former Green River City Councilman Allan Wilson’s plea agreement was finalized during his sentencing hearing Thursday morning.

Pleading guilty to sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree, Wilson’s other charges were dismissed and was placed on five years supervised probation. If he completes the probation term, the charge will be removed from his record.

If not, Wilson faces a maximum penalty of up to 20 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

District Court Judge Nena James told Wilson nothing could stop her from sentencing Wilson to the full penalty if he violates his probation.

She also reiterated how favorable his plea agreement is.

“I just hope you understand what you’ve been given in this deal,” James said.

A victim impact statement was read prior to his sentencing, written by the mother of child Wilson abused. In that statement, she said Wilson destroyed two families with his actions and said he destroyed the life of her child.

“My child will no longer be in danger,” the statement read. “I can’t forgive you and never will.”

The mother called Wilson’s plea agreement a “golden ticket” and claimed the deal doesn’t fit the crime he committed.
