Niki Stephan McCulley, 57, passed away March 14, 2019, at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City. He was a lifelong resident of Rock Springs.
McCulley was born Sept. 27, 1961, in Rock Springs, the son of Basil "Mac" McCulley and Eileen Bertoncelj McCulley.
He attended schools in Rock Springs and was a graduate of Rock Springs High School with the class of 1980. He attended the University of Wyoming and he earned a bachelor of science degree in physical education.
He married Kendrah Olson at Point of Rocks in 1988. They later divorced and she preceded him in death.
He was involved on every level of wrestling from pee wee, junior high and high school. He was a coach for wrestling, as well as, for the Young American Football League. He coached the Vikings for more than 10 years.
His interests included his seven grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.
Survivors include his parents; one daughter, Stephanie Martin and husband Rob of Green River; one son, Jonathan Olson and wife Nisha of Casper; four brothers, Mike McCulley and wife Tammy of Rock Springs, Mark McCulley and wife Nikki Ann of Carlsbad, N.M., Kirt McCulley of Bridger, Mont., and Dennis McCulley and wife Sherri of Red Lodge, Mont .; two aunts, Rae Dell Varley and husband Ed of Point of Rocks and Marilyn Bertoncelj of Rock Springs; seven grandchildren, Damien Pfeifer, Jericha Olson, Jace Olson, Jayleigh Olson, Harper Olson, Aurora Martin and Vanessa Martin; along with several cousins, nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Andrew and Nora Bertoncelj; paternal grandparents, Ben and Goldie McCulley; and two uncles, Herman McCulley and Ronald Bertoncelj.
Following cremation, a celebration of life will be conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday at Santa Fe Trail Southwest Grill, 1635 Elk Street, Rock Springs.
