Gwendolyn Marquez, 71, passed away March 8, 2019, at her home in Green River. She was a resident of Green River for 38 years and is a former resident of Bishop, Calif.
Marquez was born Nov. 18, 1947, in Bishop, Calif .; the daughter of Connie M. Denver and Rosalind M. Butcher.
She attended schools in Bishop, Calif., and was a 1966 graduate of the Bishop Union High School. Marquez also attended cosmetology school at Lapin Brothers School of Cosmetology.
She married Carlos Marquez Sept. 24, 1968, in Bishop, Calif., Marquez was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
In her younger days, she was a very good fast pitch softball pitcher. She loved hunting and fishing and she was an excellent shot with a rifle and pistol. Marquez also made beautiful Native American bead pieces.
Survivors include her husband Carlos Marquez of Green River; one son, Gabriel Marquez of Green River; as well as several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters.
Following cremation, there will be no services at her request.
