The Lady Wolves basketball team has won their last four games, including two non-conference and two conference, and they are setting their sights on more this week.
On Thursday, the Lady Wolves took on the Evanston Lady Red Devils in Green River and came out on top, 44-39. They then traveled to Jackson on Saturday where they defeated the Lady Brocs, 54-42. The two conference wins take the Lady Wolves to second in the Southwest quadrant with a 3-2 conference record and to 11-9 in their overall record.
In the Evanston game, head coach Rick Carroll said the team was still inconsistent on offense and they need to work on their communication, however, the team did rebound well in that game when they completed 31 rebounds to Evanston’s 19.
“Against Evanston, I felt we had a very good defensive effort,” he said.
In the game against Jackson, the team was inconsistent from quarter to quarter both offensively and defensively, Carroll said.
They did have a few good minutes of basketball during that game and rebounded well in the second half.
In order to prepare for the last two games of the regular season, the Lady Wolves will work on communication and their defense, he said.
The Lady Wolves will play Rock Springs on Thursday in Rock Springs at 5:30 p.m., while on Friday they will play their last home game against Star Valley at 5:30 p.m.
Leading the team in the Evanston game was Maddie Heiser with 10 points, one rebound, four assists and three steals, followed by Kayde Strauss with nine points, one rebound, two assists and three steals and Ashelyn Birch with seven points, 10 rebounds and one assist.
Leading the team in the Jackson game was Birch with 14 points, 11 rebounds and two steals, followed by Strauss with 12 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals and Erika Wilson with 10 points, four assists and three steals.
