The Green River Lady Wolves basketball team traveled to the east side of the state for a tournament and lost three games.
On Thursday the Lady Wolves lost to Laramie 56-43, while on Friday they lost to Cheyenne Central 58-53, and on Saturday they lost to Cheyenne East 54-47.
“The games were a good test. We didn’t play with a great intensity against Laramie,” head coach Rick Carroll said.
Despite the losses, the team continued to work hard and Carroll said they put forth a much better effort after their Laramie loss.
Each game is a learning experience for the Lady Wolves.
“We need consistency throughout the game and even quarter by quarter,” Carroll said. “Little things are keeping us from wins.”
It’s these little things the team will continue to work on throughout the week to prepare for their game against Worland, which is scheduled to take place in Worland 5:30 p.m.
“They are all things we can work on,” Carroll said.
Leading the team in the Laramie game is Maddie Heiser with 18 points, six rebounds, five assists and one steal, followed by Erika Wilson eight points, one rebound and one steal.
Leading the team in the Cheyenne Central game is Kayde Strauss with 16 points, one rebound, five assists and one steal, followed by Heiser with 12 points, three rebounds, four assists and one steal and Wilson with nine points, five rebounds and two steals.
Leading the team in the Cheyenne East game is Strauss with 15 points, eight rebounds, two assists and one steal, followed by Heiser with 14 points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal and Ashelyn Birch with 11 points, 16 rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal.
