Shortly before the start of the Christmas break, students at Expedition Academy hosted students from Truman Elementary School for a fun-filled afternoon geared to get the students into the Christmas spirit.
Groups of kids had the chance to visit with Santa Claus, while others made tree decorations, cookies or had a listened to Christmas stories at the school's library. The event was part of Expedition Academy's community service-oriented curriculum. Students at EA are required to perform community service while attending the school. Some events, such as the Christmas activities and the school's annual cleanup of Wyoming Highway 530 are school wide, students are also tasked with finding other community service activities to take part in outside of class. Residents who have ideas for community service projects can contact Expedition Academy and suggest the project to the school's administrators.
