Melva M. Smith, 100, of Farson passed away July 16, 2018, at her home. She resided in Farson her entire life.
She was born Feb. 12, 1918, in Farson, the daughter of Adam and Clara Fiscus.
Smith attended schools in Farson and Rock Springs.
She married George Smith June 8, 1941, in Manila and he preceded her in death May 23, 1990.
Smith was a Christian scientist and she belonged to Farson-Eden Progress Women's Club.
Her interests included gardening, baking, made beautiful wedding cakes, and remodeling her own home.
Survivors include three sons, Ronald Smith and wife Karene of Rock Springs, David Smith and wife Terry of Big Piney and Gene Smith of Farson; two daughters, Rosalie Bennett of Farson and Dorothy Hurd and husband Dale of St. George, Utah; one daughter-in-law, Patti Smith of Rock Springs; 21 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Stevan Smith, five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., July 26 at the Farson-Eden Community Hall in Farson.
Interment will be in the Eden Valley Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-6 p.m., July 25 at Vase Funeral Chapel, 154 Elk Street, Rock Springs and on Thursday morning at the Farson-Eden Community Hall one hour prior to services.
