Editor’s note: To protect the victims’ identities only a brief account of the affidavit information will be published.

A man who pleaded guilty to having sexual relations with three girls under the age of 17 will serve at least eight years in prison.

Brandon J. Stanphill, 24, Green River, appeared in the Third District Court of Judge Nena James at a sentencing hearing to one felony count of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor and one felony count third-degree sexual abuse of a minor.

He was given an 8-to-10 year prison sentence on each count, which will run concurrently with credit given for one day served.

At the change of plea hearing on Feb. 13, Stanphill pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor and one count third-degree sexual abuse of a minor.

In exchange for his guilty plea, one count of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor and two counts of third-degree sexual abuse of a minor were dismissed.

According to court documents, three different girls, who were all under 17 years old, but not younger than 13, had sexual relations with Stanphill.

Two openly admitted to officers that they had intercourse with Stanphill and he knew how old they were because they told him. The third girl wasn’t sure if Stanphill had intercourse with her or not because she had blacked out from being drunk. The next morning she woke up in bed with Stanphill, who had his shirt off. The girl told officers she stopped talking to him after that.

Documents state, that officers discovered messages on Snapchat from Stanphill to one of the girls admitting that he had intercourse with the girl who was drunk.

Another message from Stanphill to one of the girls, stated he was afraid of getting in trouble because of their ages.
