The Lady Wolves soccer team have had a rough start to the season, but that's something that should change as the season progresses what they showed Green River fans last night.
The Green River High School Lady Wolves have lost three of their last four games, losing two non-conference games and one conference game, and winning one conference game against Evanston last night, 3-2.
On Thursday, the Lady Wolves had a short trip over to Rock Springs to play the Lady Tigers, and they left with their first conference game loss, 5-0.
In their two non-conference games, the Lady Wolves took on Cheyenne East and Cheyenne Central, and lost both of those games as well.
"I'm not bummed out, I'm not mad at them," head coach Tracy Wyant said. "The teams we're playing are quality teams and we're still early in the season."
Right now, the biggest problem the Lady Wolves are facing in the depth of the team, Wyant said.
Even though the Lady Wolves only lost a few seniors last year, it's a whole new team.
"I feel like we're young, inexperienced and we're still trying to figure out some things," Wyant said.
Some of the teams they have been playing are at an advantage because their players have played soccer with each other since grade school. For the Lady Wolves, this is just not the case.
Wyant said no matter how many practices a team has, it just doesn't come close to simulating an actual game. She said there are just some things she can't make changes or decisions on until she sees all the players in game play.
"I do have quality players," she said. "I have a good idea of what direction I want to go now."
She will continue to change up the lineup and see what will work for this team and that will change how the Lady Wolves play.
