A 45-year-old Green River man died in a two-vehicle crash near Bairoil Monday afternoon.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Thomas Nisbet died after his 2002 Toyota Camry collided head-on with a tractor-trailer combination on U.S. 287 South. Nisbet is being investigated for improper use of seatbelt and driving while impaired at the time of the collision.
The WHP was dispatched to milepost 29 on U.S. 287 at 1:15 p.m.
According to the WHP, Nisbet was traveling southbound when his vehicle crossed over the center line, into the northbound lane when his vehicle crashed. The driver of the tractor-trailer combination, 67-year-old Norlin Davis of Battle Lake, Minn., was not injured in the crash.
The crash is the 13th highway fatality in Wyoming for 2018. At this time in 2017, 15 highway fatalities were reported, compared to 10 in 2016 and 18 in 2015 during the same period.
