If the Rock Springs Tigers’ wanted a similar game to their first meeting with the Wolves, it was a wish that would not be granted.
The Wolves came out strong and with a dominant first half, defeated their 4A rivals 78-69. The Wolves poured it on heavy and thick throughout the first quarters, led by scoring from senior Cameron Morris. The Wolves developed a solid lead by the end of the half, up 16 points 40-24.
The Tigers wouldn’t be down so far during the second half however, attempting to claw their way out of the deficit they were in. Solid play on by the Wolves allowed them to maintain their lead, but the Tigers were able to close the gap to a 10-point deficit. A fourth quarter frequently halted by fouls would see the Wolves victorious over the Tigers.
The Wolves will face the two Natrona County teams in their last weekend of conference play at home.
The Wolves have had success against both teams during previous meetings on the road. The Wolves take on Natrona County High School at 7 p.m. Friday night and Kelly Walsh Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
