The Sweetwater County Democratic Party is now seeking applications for the County Assessor’s position.
This position was left vacant after Pat Drinkle, a Democrat, announced her retirement. On Tuesday morning, the Sweetwater County Commissioners unanimously approved a letter notifying the Sweetwater County Democratic Party Central Committee of the vacancy.
The Commissioners’ letter states the Democrat party must name three qualified residents to hold the assessor’s position and forward those names to the Commissioners. The Commissioners will then appoint one of the three selected.
RJ Pieper, Sweetwater County Democratic Party chairman said he will notify the party about this immediately to get the search started. He said he will have a list to the commissioners so they can make a decision at their next meeting, which is scheduled to take place Feb. 20.
To apply
Interested individuals should submit a letter of interest and resume to the party no later than 5 p.m. on Feb. 12. Applicants must also attend a meeting of the Central Committee on Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. in Room 1302 at Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs. Applications may be emailed to SweetwaterCounty@WyoDems.org, or mailed to PO Box 763, Rock Springs Wy, 82902.
