Wolves notch two more victories

The Wolves added two more games to the win column during the weekend, defeating the Cheyenne South Bison 46-36 Friday evening, and the Laramie Plainsmen 69-41 Saturday afternoon.

The Wolves started their match against the Bison trailing behind by only one point through much of the first quarter as a result of a three-point shot by the Bison. The Wolves ultimately overcame that deficit by the end of the quarter and was able to maintain the lead for the rest of the game. One area the Wolves did struggle with is fouls, as they recorded 10 fouls to Cheyenne South's four by the end of the first half.

"We have had a couple of games where we got into foul trouble early," head coach Laurie Ivie said. "It's always a concern when players are in foul trouble  However, our players that come off the bench are an integral part of our success. We have full faith that whoever is in the game for us will get the job done."

Ivie credited the Wolves' defense as the main factor in both victories.

"We are playing very well together as a team both offensively and defensively," she said.

Coming up next for the Wolves are two road games, starting with a meeting in Evanston against the Red Devils Thursday, followed by a trip to Jackson Friday. Ivie said her team will continue to take things one game at a time. She also said the players are 'all in,' citing a practice the team started before the start of the season, where players and coaches talked about what they feel being all in on a cause means to them.

"They are focused, determined, and invested in our team and each other," she said.
