Walter Stanley Glon Jr.

Walter Stanley Glon Jr., of Thermopolis, passed away Nov. 24, 2017, at 70.

Born March 11, 1947, and raised in Mishawaka, Ind. He was one of two children of Walter and Sophie (Gaddey) Glon.

In 1967, Walt married Susan Cruz for 32 years and the couple raised four daughters. He then married Roxie Glon and continued to live in Green River for several years until Roxie passed away in 2007.

On Nov. 18, 2008, Walt married Deanna "Dee" Goodman and lived in Thermopolis until his death.

He served the country for four years while in the U.S. Air Force and was in the Vietnam War. For 39 years, he was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad in Green River, until retirement.

He was a member of the Catholic faith, VFW and Eagles Club. He was an avid Denver Bronco fan and also enjoyed woodworking, war movies, country life with farm animals and was a history buff.

He is survived by his wife, Dee; daughters, Jackie Woodward, Melissa Mascarenas, Terri Salcedo and Kasey Enzminger; his sister, Lorraine Giltner; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three stepsons, Weston, Tyrel and Clayton.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Susan Glon and Roxie Glon; and his father, Walter, Sr.

A celebration of Walt's life will take place Dec. 3, at 1 p.m., at the Thermopolis VFW. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Walt's memory at the Bank of Thermopolis, P.O. Box 831, Thermopolis, 82443.
