Wanda Jean Gibson, 62, of Green River passed away Oct. 5, 2017, at her home. Wanda was born Oct. 12, 1954, in Fruita, Colo., to Lloyd Frank and Frances Jean Bowden.
Wanda attended schools in Colorado and graduated with a medical assistant certification and worked as a phlebotomist in Oakley, Calif., until she moved to Green River in 1995. Wanda loved her cats and family, she enjoyed planting her flowers and helping her neighbors and she loved the Wyoming wind. She was compassionate to anyone or animal that was hurting. Wanda enjoyed talking about Jesus and sharing her faith, attending Green River Assembly of God.
Wanda is survived by her mother Frances Jean Sreaves and husband Marvin of Cedaredge, Colo.; sister Linda Buller and husband David of Green River; brother Howard Herbert of Plymouth, Wash.; nephew Tim Buller and wife Rachel of Greeley, Colo.; niece Leora Kraft and husband Veldon of Green River; nephew Amos Buller and wife Rebekah of Lyman; 13 great nieces; three great, great-nephews; aunt Margret Mounts; aunt Hulda Mary Webster and many cousins.
Wanda is proceeded in death by her father, Lloyd Frank Bowden and grandparents Walter D. and Erma C. Bowden, James and Nancy Webster.
A birthday memorial service and dinner will take place Thursday, 6 p.m., at Green River Assembly of God at 1380 Hitching Post in Green River.
A graveside service will take place in Cedaredge, Colo., next week.
