The Lady Wolves swimming team competed at two different meets and dominated many of the events.
On Friday, the Lady Wolves headed to Lander for its relay event.
"It's kind of a different format," head coach Colleen Seiloff said.
At the Lander Relays, swimmers compete in both relays and individual events. The key is to make sure the team scores well in both areas.
"I thought we did really well. We won a majority of the relays," Seiloff said. "It's really fun to do the relays because you get out there and do it for your team."
The Lady Wolves came out on top at the Lander Relays with 340 points, followed by Lander with 337 points, Rawlins with 189, Pinedale and Rock Springs tied at 160, Lyman had 105 and Kemmerer finished with 99.
Seiloff said in Lander it came down to her team winning the 400 freestyle. They needed to win to come up with the first place finish. The team stepped up and accomplished what it needed to.
The team then traveled to Rawlins Saturday for the Rawlins Pentathlon. During a pentathlon, everyone has to swim five events.
Based on how well the swimmers did in the events, is how they are ranked. The top 20 swimmers receive plaques and at this event the Lady Wolves walked away with about 15 plaques.
"We're really pleased with where they're at for the beginning of the year," Seiloff said. "They swam really well. It was fun to watch."
The Lady Wolves finished the Rawlins meet with 1,252 points, they were followed by Rock Springs High School with 514.5 points, Douglas with 327 points, Lyman with 195 points and Rawlins High School with 183.5 points.
Seiloff was happy with how the Lady Wolves performed this weekend and is hoping the momentum will continue.
"It's a good way to kick the season off and get the girls thinking positive," Seiloff said.
Despite the the great performance this weekend, the Lady Wolves will need to continue to practice.
"We're definitely going to work hard."
State Qualifiers
Not only did the Lady Wolves have a great weekend, but they already had seven members of the team qualify for state in at least one event. Seiloff said these girls really impressed her this weekend.
