A new CEO for the Green River Chamber of Commerce will start working Monday according to a media release from the chamber.
Irene Parsons was recently hired to replace Rebecca Eusek, who left the position for a job with the Wyoming Business Council. Parsons, a 41-year resident of Wyoming and University of Wyoming graduate, formerly worked for Sen. John Barrasso as his field representative in Southwest Wyoming, where she was responsible for communication with Sen. Barrasso and his staff.
“Irene is well versed in many aspects of business and community development, education and workforce training, industry and business relationships, government issues and regulatory processes,” the chamber’s release states.
Parsons has been a member of multiple chambers of commerce and has served on committees at the Green River Chamber of Commerce.
Parsons also has experience with economic development, federal regulations and processes, community profiles for business retention and attraction, grant applications and management.
“Irene’s relationships in Green River and Sweetwater County will help generate a smooth transition for the CEO position, which is beneficial for both the chamber and the community,” the release states.
As chamber CEO, Parsons will be tasked with increasing chamber membership and promoting all Green River businesses. She will work with all members of the chamber, promoting and hosting community and networking events, as well as serving as a liaison with the chambers ambassadors and city officials.
Angela Shutran, the chamber’s board president, believes Parsons will build on the momentum Eusek generated for the chamber and city.
“Parsons’ infectious enthusiasm for the city of Green River and her related work experience will make her a great leader in the community and a tremendous asset,” the release states.
