County residents between the ages of 12 and 17 have a chance to see how the Green River Police Department operates.
The department will host its Junior Citizen’s Academy June 6-9 from 8 a.m., to 5 p.m., and will accept applications to the academy through May 31. The academy is limited to 20 participants, who will undergo a background check.
The four-day program consists of classroom and hands-on demonstrations regarding the department’s operations and include functions performed by the GRPD’s animal control, patrol, investigations and special assignments divisions. The academy also features specialized guest speakers.
Applications are available at the GRPD building Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Those interested can also look at the department’s Facebook page or contact Det. Luke Benson at 872-6170.
