Lady Wolves win 2 more at home

Back-to-back wins should give the Green River High School Lady Wolves Soccer Team the momentum they need to keep winning.

During the Natrona County game, the Lady Wolves came out on top 6-3.

"The first half was very slow," head coach Tracy Wyant said. "Not what I was expecting."

Wyant said the team didn't get behind in the first half, which kept them in the game.

At the end of the first half, the game was all tied up at two goals each. Taylor Stoeger got the first two goals of the game for the Lady Wolves.

During the half, Wyant was working hard to get the girls sprits up. She wanted them to get their heads into the game.

"I need that Saturday team back," Wyant told them.

Wyant also told the Lady Wolves they have to want the win because Natrona County wasn't going to give it to them.

During the second half of the game, the Lady Wolves seemed more focused and were playing the way Wyant had seen them play before.

"We figured it out. That's all that matters," she said. "We ended on a much better note."

Stoeger led the team with four goals and the first hat trick of the season, while Chezney Mamalis scored one goal and freshman Carly Kettering scored her first goal on the varsity level.

"It's her first goal as a varsity player," Wyant said. "You'll see a lot more from her I think."

Another standout freshman Wyant said people should watch for in upcoming games is Kaylee Hymas.

On Monday the Lady Wolves picked up their second victory in a week when they went up against Jackson. The team came out on top 4-2.

The team will need all of this momentum when they travel to Rock Springs Saturday to take on the Lady Tigers at 10 a.m.
