Ardath Vernell Logan, 96, of Rock Springs passed away March 3, 2017 at Mission at Castle Rock in Green River.
The daughter of Dewitt and Nellie Hampton Keefee was born in Gering, Neb., Sept. 30, 1920.
She grew up in Wheatland, where she attended the local schools and later married John Logan. They lived in Wheatland and later they moved to Rock Springs.
John joined the army and upon his discharge was hired by Mountain Fuel as a plant operator.
They lived in the company camps at Hiawatha and Powder Wash, Colo. During their time in the camps, Ardath assisted and ran the company cook houses.
Later, they moved to Rock Springs where she was employed by the Singer Sewing Machine Company to run their store, working as a seamstress and instructor. She was later employed by the Park Hotel, where she was the office manager and remained there until her retirement. She was also a member of The Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
She liked to spend time on the computer and spent many hours painting pictures. She also engaged in making crafts, and participated in local craft shows and fairs.
Ardath and John had four children, Jo Ann (Ruggera), Lois Jean (Crofts), Mary Ruth (Parr) and John Jr.
Survivors include sister Donnis Brown of Birmingham, Ala .; daughter Jo Ann (Ruggera) and husband Dave; their four daughters, Annette Combs and husband Keith, Bernadette Butler and husband Don Shoenfelder, Charolette Markham and husband Ed and Donnette Kelley and husband Mike; great grandchildren Danielle (Combs) Alarid, Kelsey (Combs) Flores and husband Micheal, Cassie (Butler) Mullins and husband Stephen, John Butler, Tyson Markham , Jenntry (Straube) Leftwich and husband Blake, Kimberely Straube and Sam Kelley; 16 great-great grandchildren; son-in-law Monty Croft of Ogden, Utah; and daughter-in-law Barbara Logan of Handcock, Maine. Additional grandchildren surviving are Todd Parr, Cindy Taylor, Dana Means, Tammy Hendricks, James Logan ,Johnny J. Logan, Tanya Worchester, Great grandchildren Brandon Hunter, Keaton Hunter, Dawn Cross, Sandy A'hearn, Georgeanne Logan, Sara Walton and Page Worchester.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John; daughter Lois Jean Croft; daughter Mary Ruth Parr; son John J. Logan Jr .; brother Frank Keefe; sisters Violet Jean Perry and Ruth Nieberger; brother-in-laws Charles Perry, Jack Brown and Nyron Nieberger; sister-in-law Gloria Keefe and son-in-law Don Parr.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Rock Springs at noon Saturday. A vigil service with rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday at Vase Funeral Chapel, in Rock Springs.
Friends may call Friday at Vase Funeral Chapel one hour prior to rosary and on Saturday at Vase Chapel one hour prior to services.
