A Powerball ticket purchased at Maverik turned out to be a $100,000 payday for a lucky Mills resident.
Curtis Reid purchased the ticket Feb. 21 while in Green River.
Reid is a truck driver for Food Bank of the Rockies, a program supplying food to food banks in Wyoming.
Reid thought he might be a winner after listening to the numbers on his radio and realizing his ticket shared some of the numbers of the $435 million jackpot-winning ticket.
After checking his numbers four times using Wyolotto’s online number checker, his lucky purchase dawned on him.
“I couldn’t believe it, I was pretty shocked,” Reid said in a press release from Wyolotto.
Reid’s payout was doubled since he payed the additional $1 for Powerball’s Power Play option, without which would have payed out $50,000. While Reid has won Wyolotto payouts in the past, but said he was excited to see his winning ticket.
“There are a couple more zeros this time,” he said.
Reid plans to pay off his motorcycle and buy a new car.
He also plans to use the winnings to tour Wyoming and ride his motorcycle to Minnesota this summer. He also plans to continue playing Wyolotto’s games.
Between Wyolotto’s four games, more than $1.9 million winning tickets have been sold and more than $29 million in total winnings have been paid out since Wyolotto’s start in August 2014.
