The boys swimming and diving team competed in Cheyenne at Cheyenne East Saturday. The team finished sixth with 104 points, ending behind Gillette, Laramie, Kelly Walsh, Rock Springs and Scottsbluff, Neb.

Other swimmers had great showings in Cheyenne as well. Brendan Bloomquist took second in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing at 1:03.38. Ethan Moffatt took fifth in the event with a time of 1:06.89.
In diving, Avery Bailey, Coleton Spalding and Alejandro Grajeda finished eighth, ninth and 10th respectively, while Miles Moffat finished 15th.
Head coach Colleen Seiloff continues to be happy with the team’s performances. Eight team members have qualified for the state swim meet in Gillette Feb. 23-24. She said the team will have more qualifiers going to state than they have in the past few years. Seiloff also said she believes a few more swimmers will qualify for state. The swimmers will swim in Evanston and Lyman Thursday and Friday, before returning home Saturday for the Green River Invite. The invite is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
