Dion Paul Martinez

Dion Paul Martinez, 47, of Green River, passed away peacefully at University of Utah Hospital after sudden illness Jan. 15, 2017.

He was married to Jani Fuller Martinez for 20 years. He worked several construction jobs and as a industrial painter, then coal miner for eight years. He enjoyed camping and hanging out with family and friends. Martinez was a family man and loved his family, his dogs and friends, dearly.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe Martinez, Senaida Martinez, Paul Pierce and Bernice Pierce. He was also preceded in death by uncles Willie Martinez, Glise Martinez, Bell Martinez, Claude Pierce and James Martin.

Survived by his wife Jani Martinez; parents Beryl and Floyd Martinez; brother Andrew and spouse Lauri Martinez; one nephew, Drew; one niece, Kelsee Martinez; stepson, Michael and spouse Paula Ponzini; grandchildren Sierra, Jena, and Ian Ponzini; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins of whom he loved and adored.

Services will take place Jan. 27 at 11 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church in Green River. A memorial will follow those services at Riverview Cemetery.
