Norman R Piner, 84, of Rock Springs, passed away Nov. 23, 2016
at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. A longtime resident
of Rock Springs, Piner died from a sudden illness.
He was born Jan. 27, 1932 in Bunker Hill, Kan., the son of Emory Ross
Piner and Lola Belle Crofton. Piner attended school in Bunker Hill, Kan.
He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and received his honorable discharge on May 25, 1955. Piner married Jean Blasko on
July 7, 1973 in Jackson, and she preceded him in death May 16, 2016.
He was employed by Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County for more
than 30 years and retired as maintenance supervisor. He continued
to work as the building manager for Hilltop Properties.
Piner was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Community.
His interests were fly fishing, reading and spending time with his family and the family dogs. He also enjoyed shooting.
Survivors include one daughter, Rebecca Drnas and husband Joseph of Rock Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and siblings.
Cremation will take place and a mass of Christian burial was celebrated Wednesday.
