Doris Jean Cochrun, 74, of Green River, passed away Nov. 9, 2016 at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County.
A longtime resident of Green River and former resident of Indiana, Cochrun died following a lengthy illness.
She was born on March 8, 1942 in Muncie, Ind., the daughter of Leonard W. and Florence L. Doll Lipscolmb.
Cochrun attended school in Indiana.
She was married to William Bobbitt on July 24, 1962 in Aztec, N.M., and divorced in 1986. She married Ona D. Cochran in Green River, May 28, 1988.
Cochrun was employed as a school bus driver for 18 years for Sweetwater County School District No. 2 and for several years as a bus driver for Star Transit.
She enjoyed spending time at their cabin, fishing, participating in the Mountain Man Rendezvous, catching crawdads, weaving rugs and working on old treadle sewing machines.
Survivors include her husband, Ona D. Cochrun, of Green River; four sons, Tad Bobbitt and wife Gaylene of Las Vegas, Clint Bobbitt and Beverly of Opal, Leonard Bobbit and wife Dara of Green River, and one step-son, Hushlen Cochrun of Superior; two daughters, Ronda Suzi Simmons and husband Kelly of Green River and D-Ann Baer of Kearney, Neb .; two brothers, Jim Lipscolmb of Muncie, Ind., and Paul Lipscolmb of Indiana and Florida; one sister, Sally Devore of Muncie, Ind .; special friends Denise Stadler and Debby Thayler; 10 grandchildren, Brit Wahrer, Stephanie Bobbitt, Amanda Bobbitt, Chelsey Lee, Devin Bobbitt, James Peterson, Gwen Stukenholtze, Erick Cochrun, Heather and Amber; 18 great-grandchildren and one on the way; several cousins, nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter in infancy and one sister, Debbie Crabtree.
Cremation will take place and Celebration of Life and a light luncheon will take place at the Eagles Hall in Green River Friday from noon to 2 p.m.
