Clayton Francis Gradert

Clayton Francis Gradert, 69, of Rock Springs, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County.  A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming and former resident of Casper, Gradert died following a sudden illness.

He was born Feb., 4, 1947 in Rock Springs, the son of Francis Alvin Gradert and Thelma Hannah Beach Gradert.  

Gradert attended schools in Casper and was a graduate of Natrona High School with the class of 1965.

He was married to Connie Weatherington in Rock Springs March 14, 1981

Gradert was  a United States Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam war from 1968-1970. He received the Purple Heart and was honorably discharged from the Infantry as a SP4.

He was employed by U.P. Resources as an oil field pumper for 17 years and also for Samson Resources and retired in 2011.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, past patron Order of the Eastern Star, past president of the Rock Springs Shrine Club, volunteer for Red Desert Roundup Rodeo for 32 years, American Legion Archie Hay Post No. 24, and was a deacon at the Presbyterian Church.

His interests included Hunting, Camping, Fishing, Spending time with family, Denver Bronco's, Wyoming Cowboys, Taking pictures of wildlife while working in the field along with arrow head hunting and skiing.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Gradert of Rock Springs; two sons, Patrick Gradert and wife Brenda Chavez Gradert and Travis Gradert and wife Allyson Viles Gradert, all of Green River; two daughters, Amy Gradert Reyes and husband Joel of Green River, Stephenie Gradert and companion Paul Nelson of Rock Springs, Wyoming, one sister; Donna Gradert Brunette and companion Dom Marburger of Glenrock, seven grandchildren; Jack Chavez, Shelby Ransom, Bailee Ransom, Ryan Reyes, Emily Reyes, Francis Gradert and Alayna Grader;  several cousins, nephews and nieces also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma Beach-Gradert and Francis Gradert and Brother Leonard Gradert.

A celebration of his life took place Monday.
