Raymond James Reese

Raymond James Reese, 84, of Rock Springs, passed away Nov. 1, 2016 at the home of his son. A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Reese died following a brief illness. 

He was born on Dec. 15, 1931 in Rock Springs, the son of John and Viola Symes Reese.

Reese attended schools in Rock Springs and graduated from the Rock Springs High School and later attended Brigham Young University. 

He married Margaret Lillian Prater March 8, 1957 and she preceded him in death June 10, 2016.

Reese was a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He enlisted on May 28, 1951 and received his honorable discharge on May 18, 1955.  He was employed as a carpenter for Superior Lumber for many years and retired in 1991. 

Reese was a member of Rock Springs Evangelical Free Church and Carpenters Union No. 1620. His interests included spending time with his family, camping on his land in Pinedale and hunting. He enjoyed watching his grandson at his motocross races and keeping his yard impeccable and raising fruit trees. 

Survivors include two sons, Roger Levitt and wife Carol and Leeland Reese and wife Jody, both of Rock Springs; one daughter, Cindy Reese-Bluemn of Rock Springs; ten grandchildren, Brian Levitt and wife Jan, Dustin Levitt and wife Kristel, Nathan Reese and wife Jennifer, Tiffany O'Leary and husband Patrick, Naomi Reese and fiancé Marcus and L.J. Reese and wife Lauren; 19 great-grandchildren Darian Levitt, Jensen Levitt, Hadlee Levitt, Tristan Stassinos, Magyan Stassinos, Addy Levitt, Krysta Levitt, Koriann Levitt, Sidney Reese, Payton Reese, Justis Reese, Aiden Reese, James Banks, London James, De'Andre James, Ethan O'Leary, Patrick O'Leary, Cyrus and Ashlynn Etherington. 

Memorial services took place Monday.
