Rachel Ann McCracken, 87, of Uvalde, Texas passed away Oct. 17, 2016, in Salt Lake City.
She enjoyed the Texas winters and lived in Uvalde, Texas for seven years, but was a former longtime resident of Farson. She passed away following an illness.
Rachel was born Feb. 20, 1929, in Washington, Penn., the daughter of Peter and Rose West.
Rachel attended and graduated from the Washington High School with the class of 1947.
She married Paul Edmond McCracken in Las Vegas, Dec. 4, 1952.
Rachel was employed as a librarian at the Farson Eden School for many years. She was a long time member of Eden Valley Baptist Church and was a Sunday school teacher. She volunteered twice weekly at Friends of Hospice in Uvalde.
Survivors include her husband Paul of Rock Springs; four sons, Scott and spouse Caron of Lexington, Ken., Mark and spouse Connie of Farson, Paul Michael and spouse Dayna of Rock Springs and David and spouse Andrea of Keller, Texas; two daughters, Lisa Workman and spouse Larry of Draper, Utah and Rebekah James and spouse Russell of Uvalde, Texas; one sister, Mary Lou Martin of Downey, Calif .; 22 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Stephen John who passed in 1986, one brother, Don West, and one granddaughter, Alexandria Wisdom Blaze McCracken.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, at the Farson Community Hall in Farson. Interment will be in the Farson Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. Thursday at Vase Funeral Home in Rock Springs and on Friday morning at the Farson Community Center one hour prior to services.
