Norma Gay Dooley, 87, of Rock Springs, passed away Oct. 12, 2016, at the Sage View Care Center. A longtime resident of Rock Springs and former resident of Orient, Ill., Dooley died following a lengthy illness.
She was born on Aug. 8, 1929, in Orient, Ill., the daughter of Luther Morris and Jewel Hopper. Dooley attended schools in Orient.
She was employed as a clerk for Safeway for 20 years and retired in 1999. She had also worked at Smith's Food Center.
Her interests included spending time with her family, gardening, gambling and traveling.
She was a member of Rock Springs Worship Center and was a Golden Auxiliary member of Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie No. 151.
Survivors include one son, Norman Dooley and wife Crystal, of Vancouver, Canada; two daughters, Penny Trujillo and husband Eddie of Rock Springs, and Candice "Candy" Haffey and husband Pat of Albany, Mo .; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, at The Rock Springs Worship Center in Rock Springs. Inurnment will be at the columbarium in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
