Candy Marie Wood (Shelly)

Candy Marie Wood (Shelly), 53, of Rock Springs, passed away July 4, 2016.

A resident of Rock Springs and formerly a resident of Lusk, Casper, Rawlins and Osage. 

She was born on Oct. 25, 1962 in Newcastle, the daughter of Joseph Roy Wood Sr. and Marjorie Ann Garhart. 

Wood attended schools in Osage and Newcastle. She married Russell Shelly in Newcastle, Oct. 11, 1979, and they later divorced. 

Survivors include four daughters, Trisha Miller of Billings, Mont., Dee Dyer, Bobbie Oliva, and Angela Gilson, all of Rock Springs; three brothers, Dale Wood and Joe Wood Jr., both of Osage, and Mike Wood of Sheridan; one sister, Deborah Wood of Worland; former husband Russell Shelly of Elizabethton, Tenn.; and 12 grandchildren Darren Pruitt, Tawna Jennings, Tony Dyer, Jayce Dyer, Skylar Talton, Kaitlyn Adams, Alisa Luurs, Caleb Rodgers, Vanessa Oliva, Austin Oliva, Troy Bingham and Kiana Bingham.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Carrie Sullivan, maternal grandparents Leonard and Opal Garhart and her paternal grandparents Virginia Grace Wood (Beck) and Roy Melton Wood. 

Funeral services took place Saturday in Osage.
