GR golfer takes state title

A golfer from Green River won the 2016 Wyoming State Match Play tournament at the Powderhorn Country Club in Sheridan.

Siddoway, who has golfed since he was five years old, competed in golf in high school, started competing competitively when he returned to the area after college.

His toughest match was the final he played against John Hornbeck, a victory that started with Siddoway behind Hornbeck by four holes after the first eight. Momentum swung in Siddoway's favor and he was able to take the next seven holes.

"I was in a very good position then," he said.

Siddoway said he's thankful for the support he's received from the community, as well as his friends and family.
