A Green River man died in a fatal crash south of city June 12.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, 66-year-old Nick Sanchez died about 13 miles south of Green River after he failed to make a turn in the road.
The crash occurred at about 5:33 p.m. on Wyoming Highway 530.
A release from the WHP states Sanchez was riding his motorcycle at a high rate of speed during a heavy rainstorm. He drove off of the road and was thrown frrm his bike as it rolled multiple times. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, but sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash.
Speed and wet road conditions are being investigated as contributing factors in this crash that marked the 33rd highway fatality in Wyoming for 2016. There were 56 fatalities during this same time period in 2015.
