The Green River Knights fared well in the Roy Peck Memorial Wood Bat Tournament in Riverton over the weekend.
The Knights’ A Team took first after defeating the Riverton Raiders in the championship match, while the B Team took third.
The A Team initially faced Riverton’s B Team, defeating them 7-1, and later took on Douglas, winning that game 6-3. During the championship game, the Knights showed their superiority over the Raiders 18-1.
The Knights will soon host their own wood bat tournament. The tournament will take place June 17-19. The tournament will host 10 teams, including the Knights rivals from Rock Springs.
The Knights will face Rawlins at 3 p.m. at Stratton Meyers Park, take on Steamboat Springs, Colo. at 8:30 p.m. at Veterans Park June 17. They will then face Jackson at 3:30 p.m. at Riverton at 8:30 p.m. at Stratton Meyers Park June 18.
